Many cases of "dementia" are actually side effects of prescription drugs or vaccines, according to research.

The facts provided by the Alzheimer's Association are quite alarming: more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, and this number is expected to reach 16 million by 2050. The sixth leading cause of death in the United States, it kills more Americans than prostate and breast cancer combined. A person develops Alzheimer's disease every 66 seconds; will you be one of them?

With statistics like these, it's no wonder people want to do everything they can to reduce their chances. However, it's also important to note that Alzheimer's disease is only one of the potential causes of dementia. While many people use the terms interchangeably, Alzheimer's is responsible for only 50 to 70 percent of dementia cases. The misleading terminology masks a very grim fact about dementia: often, it's not caused by something scientists still struggle to understand like Alzheimer's, but rather by things masquerading as tools for good health: vaccines and prescription drugs.

In fact, the Alzheimer's Association, which publishes these statistics, is funded by Big Pharma. It's simply good business sense to want people to believe that every patient with memory loss falls under the umbrella of Alzheimer's disease, because then they can sell you drugs supposedly designed to treat it. Their research has led them to a successful approach: promoting and destigmatizing what many consider "mental illnesses," which gives the impression that they can't be prevented, only managed with medication. Many people who work for the Alzheimer's Association and similar organizations are well-intentioned individuals who want to help and are often unaware of their connection to Big Pharma.

You have more control over "dementia" than they want you to believe.

It is no coincidence that cases of dementia have increased at the same time as children, like adults, are over-vaccinated (flu vaccine, anyone?) and the over-prescription of brain-altering drugs, such as antidepressants, is widespread.

A help guide based on a Harvard University report acknowledges this. According to the report , "medications are often responsible for mental decline." As the body ages, the liver's efficiency in metabolizing medications decreases, and the kidneys don't eliminate them as quickly as before. Medications accumulate in the body, meaning that those taking multiple medications are especially susceptible to this effect.

Antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, sedatives, corticosteroids, narcotics, antihistamines, cardiovascular medications, and anticonvulsants are included in the list of medications published in the guide. This is a very broad range of medications, and many older adults take medications belonging to one or more of these categories. In fact, you might want to check your medicine cabinet now.

A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine established a correlation between the use of popular medications such as Benadryl and other anticholinergic drugs and the onset of dementia . According to the researchers, patients who took these medications for three years or more had a 54% increased chance of developing the disease.

Vaccines are also responsible for symptoms mistaken for dementia . Dementia is increasingly being diagnosed in people in their forties, and experts believe that environmental factors are likely responsible in these cases. The mercury-containing compound thimerosal was widely used in childhood vaccines until 2001 and remains in some vaccines, including flu vaccines, to this day. A study published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease found that mercury exposure could cause numerous changes in Alzheimer's patients , including impaired cognitive function and memory, as well as confusion.

Researcher Richard Deth stated: "Mercury clearly contributes to neurological problems, the rate of which increases in parallel with rising mercury concentrations. It appears that the two are linked."

Another common ingredient found in vaccines, aluminium, has also been linked to dementia.

It's a very clever way for Big Pharma to keep the machine running profitably: convince people they need vaccines or medications, and when those vaccines or medications cause other side effects and illnesses, sell even more medications to counteract them. And the best part for them is that because mental decline is involved, it reduces the chances that people will realize what's really going on here.
